Meet The Cavaliers - Hannah Craft

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet news article image

Happy Friday everybody and welcome to another instalment of our ‘Meet the Cavaliers’ blog. Reminder: Each week we focus on one of Apt Cavalier's biggest fans, from those who have been with us from the very start to some who literally have one of every item in our collection.

This week's blog is a good'un - the very modest Hannah Craft / Sid Goes Eventing talks about her goals and how popular Sid is on the circuit. She doubts her ability as a rider in this blog but we think she's selling herself short - she is amazing, plus her event blogs are always hilarious!

AC: Who are you and where are you based?
H: Hey guys, my name is Hannah but you may know me as the less important half of "Sid Goes Eventing"! I am currently based in Wiltshire after relocating from London and leaving my City lawyer job. Happily, I now have more time for Sid (he may or may not find that an improvement......you'd have to ask him) and for family and friends.

AC: Can you tell us a bit about your horses and what you do with them?
H: Sid is a 17hh skewbald ball of awesomeness. I bought him as a blank canvas 5 years ago and we have been on quite a journey! I fell into eventing, doing my first BE80T on a whim, and we are now competing regularly at BE100. Sid puts up with my terrible riding and tries hard to make me look good, despite my best efforts. He is super laid back, apart from in the XC start box, and loves nothing better than being allowed to gallop round fields like a loony and cuddles! He has a knack of making people love him - sadly it is completely true that my horse is more popular than me wherever we go!!! Sid's favourite hobby is taking a stride out at big, bold XC fences whilst I hold grimly on....

AC: What is your ultimate equestrian goal?
H: I would absolutely love to get to Badminton grassroots, but I'm not sure I'm a good enough rider. Failing that, we are fairly comfortable at BE100 level so it would be incredible to move up to Novice and just complete! I know Sid can do it - so I need to up my game!

AC: What was it about Apt Cavalier that made you want to invest in our brand?
H: First things first - Sarah is amazing. I follow her eventing journey and love watching her success with Woody, who is a pocket rocket version of Sid I think! I love buying from real people and not just great big companies - I really believe in supporting small businesses. You can tell from Sarah's posts just how much she cares about her brand and the quality of products that she is putting out there, and that's something that, as a customer, I highly value. I love the clean styles of the clothing too - everything I've bought from Apt Cavalier gives a really flattering silhouette and wears beautifully!

AC: What is your favourite Apt Cavalier product and why?
H: My eventing bestie, Adele (AL Eventing) recently bought me the red version of her jacket as a leaving present (sob). I feel super privileged because I think I got the very first one in the new colour! Red is Sid and I's lucky colour (no, we have never won a red rosette but sshhhh!) so it goes amazingly with the red eventing bag she got me for Christmas. The coat looks so smart and I wear it at events to keep me warm and toasty in between phases and post-XC when I take off my body protector and relax!!!
