Meet the Cavaliers - Adele Ayton

Happy Friday everybody and welcome to another instalment of our ‘Meet the Cavaliers’ blog. Reminder: Each week we focus on one of Apt Cavalier's biggest fans, from those who have been with us from the very start to some who literally have one of every item in our collection.

This weekend we chat to the lovely Adele who has the most GORGEOUS big lad, Marley who seems to just float around a dressage arena. She also makes hilarious blogs with her best Hannah who you may know as Sid Goes Eventing.

AC: Who are you and where are you based?
A: I’m Adele Ayton and I keep my horses at a small private yard in Kent.

AC: Can you tell us a bit about your horses and what you do with them?
A: I have two of my own horses, both big, bay, Irish sports horse boys. Louie is 17.2h and rising 11, we have evented to novice and were aiming for intermediate but he suffers with sacroiliac pain so he’s had a break from eventing in an attempt to rehab and strengthen the area to see if we can make him more comfortable.

I also have a riding 6yo called Marley, I bought him as a 4yo with the aim to produce him up the levels and hope that one day he will be the one to take me round my first intermediate. But I really enjoy riding and training him that I actually don’t mind if we don’t make those dizzy heights. We are currently doing a couple of BE80s to kick start the season with the aim to progress to 90 if these go well.

AC: What is your ultimate equestrian goal?
A: I would love to continue to climb the eventing ladder and see how far I can go, as I mentioned previously my next goal was to go Intermediate and I would still love to do this one day. I would also love the chance to wear tails again, and my one and only run at 1 star with Louie I didn’t order tails in time and wore my normal jacket, so this is still something I would love to do. But mainly it’s to enjoy the horses and the sport regardless of what level I am at.

AC: What was it about Apt Cavalier that made you want to invest in our brand?
A: I first saw apt cavalier on Facebook when a friend had liked their posts and really liked the look of the show shirt with the breathable back.  I put a few items on my wish list for my birthday that year and my mum ordered me the white skin that I wear xc, under my show shirt on colder days and out hunting in the winter. Since then it has come out in blue (my favourite colour) which I think I will just have to get soon.

AC: What is your favourite Apt Cavalier product and why?
A:For Christmas I put the blue padded jacked on my Christmas list and got it, so would probably have to say this is not only my favourite Apt Cavalier product but quite possibly my favourite equine clothing piece. It’s so smart, (and blue) and it’s always in the car so when I go to a lesson or show I’ve got a clean smart coat to pop on rather than a smelly old coat that I wear all day at the yard. I also teach at a school a couple of days a week and I nearly always have it with me to keep me warm for on playground duty.

Thanks so much to Adele for chatting with us. Make sure you check out her recent vlog here
